The American Association for State and Local
History (AASLH) announced that the Idaho Heritage Trust is the recipient of an Award of Merit from the AASLH Leadership in History Awards for their committed
service to Idaho’s heritage in July 2009. The AASLH awards program was initiated in 1945 to establish and encourage
standards of excellence in the collection, preservation, and interpretation of state and
local history throughout the United States.
In 1999 The Idaho Heritage Trust received a prestigious Preservation Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation. In 1997, Gaetha Pace received an Orchid Award from Preservation Idaho and in 1999, Fred Walters, our preservation architect, also received an Orchid. In 2005 the Idaho Heritage Trust and Director Gaetha Pace received an Esto Perpetua Award from the Idaho State Historical Society.
