Partnerships The Idaho Heritage Trust has limited resources available for preservation while the interest statewide is great. The Trustees pride themselves on the number of partnerships developed in the twelve years they have been awarding grants in Idaho. These partnerships make it possible for great things to be accomplished so that one small Trust grant at the conception of a project can been used to gather the support necessary to get the job done. The Trust has partnered with many federal, state, foundation and city/county groups over the years. These include: The National Park Service, the Clearwater, Bitterroot, Targhee and Salmon/Challis National Forests, the Bureau of Land Management, the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (Old Mission State Park, Harriman State Park, Three Island State Park and the City of Rocks), the Murdock Trust, the Chesterfield Foundation and Paul Allen Foundation, Idaho Power, Micron Technology, US Bank, Bank of America, Boise Cascade Corporation, Albertsons Corporation, Basic American Foods, the Janss Foundation and many, many more. Throughout the years, the Idaho State Historical Society have provided invaluable advice and counsel to the Trust. In addition, the Steele Reese Foundation has partnered with the Trust for five years to provide additional funding to towns with fewer than 5,000 people and AVISTA Corporation and John and Connie Taylor of Lewiston have funded an endowment for preservation of public buildings in their Northern Idaho service area. |
